We're now three weeks into the development of a VR emoji shop aimed at teaching primary school children maths. The core game loop and the structures for handling various components of the game have been implemented with placeholder assets. Customers come and go from the shop, requesting some quantity of items, and roam around between points (Unity's NavMesh system). Accurate physics-based weighing scales can be used for measurements, and transactions are completed with in-game currency. Additionally, machines to combine, duplicate, multiply and divide items have made an appearance, although their reliability is questionable!
